Andy Baker is the founder and Managing Director at Tyrian Capital.
Andy formed Tyrian Capital after almost 20 years of financial services experience in the United States and Europe. He has been an investor, operator and advisor to companies since 1995. Prior to launching Tyrian Capital, Andy was a partner at Cedar Capital, a private-equity backed Chicago-based investment management firm, where he completed several acquisitions in the asset management industry.
Andy has been active in private equity since 2005, when he joined a lower middle market private equity firm affiliated with a $2 billion family investment office. During his time there, Andy was actively involved in more than 20 transactions covering all aspects of deal sourcing, structuring, execution and oversight.
He started his career in investment banking at Lehman Brothers in 1995 after obtaining his degree in Economics from University of London.
Andy maintains active links to family investment offices and sits on the investment committee for a significant Chicago family foundation. He is also passionate about in philanthropic causes in education and sport in Chicago.
